User groups (units)
The organisation tree, shown here as Departments & Units: every directorate, department and unit, its code, its parent and its head. Approvals, registries and access all follow it.

Screens
- The list
- Counts (total, active, child groups, with a head); search by name or code; filter by sector; include inactive units; Add user group.
- A unit's page
- Head, parent group, description, child groups with their heads, and a summary (status, sector, code, dates). Actions: Edit, Deactivate / Activate, Delete (only with no child units).
- New / edit form
- Name, code, sector, parent group, head, description and status.
Fields
- User Group Name
- The name people see.
- User Group Code
- Unique short code, for example
FIN-023. Approval steps and settings refer to units by code. - Sector
- Construction, Engineering, Legal, Administration, Consulting, Clinical, Nursing, Diagnostics, Pharmacy, Finance, ICT, Support Services or Other.
- Parent group
- The unit above, or top-level.
- Head (HOD / HOU)
- The person who receives “head of unit” approvals. Changing it moves the old head's pending approvals for this unit to the new head.
- User Group Status
- Active or not. Inactive units are hidden from pickers and from the default list.
Members are not listed on a unit's page: a person's units are set on their own record (Edit User › Employment › User Groups).
