Clinical Staff
For doctors, nurses, pharmacists and allied health staff, the suite is mostly quick: read circulars from the CMAC and your directorate, raise clinical requests, and check on them between duties. Clinical requests go through the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee rather than the Director of Administration.
Who this is for
Staff in the clinical services under the CMAC: the clinical departments (Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Accident & Emergency, Radiology, the laboratories and the others), the Directorate of Nursing Services and Pharmaceutical Services. An administrator gives them the Clinical Staff role (CLINICAL_STAFF): everything an employee has, plus read access to the equipment register and the right to upload documents.
Heads of clinical departments and directorates use Head of Department / Unit as well.
What you’ll see in your menu
- Requests. Your clinical and administrative requests and where each one is.
- Fixed Assets. The equipment register for your unit, so you can see what is there and its state.
| Menu section | What you will see (select to open it in the app) |
|---|---|
| Workspace | Dashboard AI Assistant Notifications Mail Documents Memos Events Meetings |
| Work | Requests Approvals Fixed Assets |
In the app, Memos reads Memos & Circulars and Approvals reads My Desk.
Your working day
Before or after a shift
- Read new circulars. Open Memos & Circulars. Circulars from the CMAC to the clinical services, and from your department or directorate, are under For me. Urgent ones are also on the home page.
- Check your requests. In Requests, the banner on each one says whose desk it is on. A request returned for correction needs you. See If your request is returned.
- Check the calendar. Clinical meetings, CMEs and ward rounds put in Events show under Coming up on the home page.
The suite works on a phone. Tap the panel icon at the top left to open the menu. See Tour of the home page.
Clinical requests
These request templates are only offered to staff in the clinical services. They follow the clinical track: your head of department → the CMAC → the CMD.
- Clinical Training & Conference Sponsorship (
TES-CLN-001) - Sponsorship to a clinical conference, update course or CME.
- Study Leave / Training Release (Clinical) (
TES-EDU-002) - Study leave and release for residency or fellowship examinations.
- Clinical / Medical Request (
CMAC-GEN-001) - Anything clinical for the CMAC: a new service, equipment, staffing.
Ward and clinic Drug & Medical Consumables Requisition (CMAC-PHM-001) is shorter: your head, then Pharmacy. Leave, housing, transport and similar requests use the ordinary administrative templates, like everyone else. Start any of them from New request. See Submit a request.
Equipment
- Look up an item in Fixed Assets by name, serial number or location to see its status (for example In maintenance).
- To report a fault or ask for new equipment, raise a request. The register is kept by the Fixed Asset Manager; you can look but not change it.
How do I…
Things only you can do
- Raise clinical requests that go through the CMAC. Administrative staff do not see these templates.
- Upload documents, such as protocols, clinical guidelines and CME certificates, to Documents. See Upload and share a document.
Common pitfalls
- You cannot find the clinical templates. They are offered only to people placed in a clinical, nursing or pharmacy unit. If you are in no unit, or in the wrong one, ask your head to have it corrected in Departments & Units.
- Picked the administrative version by mistake (for example Study Leave / Training Release without “Clinical”). It will go to the DA instead of the CMAC. Withdraw it and raise the clinical one.
- Lock screen on a shared ward computer. Always lock or sign out when you step away. See Screen lock PIN.
